An Inside Look At The New Palms Place Condos

The condo craze continues with the opening of the new Palms Place just West of the Las Vegas strip.

It is a non-gaming hotel, condo, and spa right next to the Palms casino.

Wednesday owner George Maloof showed off his latest creation.

Action News anchor Tiffani Sargent takes us inside the latest condo to hit the Las Vegas skyline.

It is part of the Palms family, but with a completely different identity.

Maloof said, "It gives a sense of calmness, something that is kind of the alternative to the Palms. "

But it is still connected to Las Vegas' celebrity playground with a moving walkway called a sky tube.

Palms place features almost 600 condos that also will be used as hotel rooms.

"The resident can take his unit and give it back to us, assign it to us, and we'll rent it as a hotel room," said Maloof."

He thinks most of the owners will not live in these fully equipped suites permanently, but will enjoy the amenities when they are here.

Maloof said, "The way the building is designed, we try to take advantage of all the views of the strip and the spring mountains, it is really spectacular. "

The drift spa features a Turkish bath known as a hammam, the first of its kind in Las Vegas.

Next to the spa is the first and only Sunset Tan franchise in tour valley.

The celebrity element that defines the Palms brand is still alive and well at Palms Place.

Maloof explains, "We have offered up units to celebrities and we have had celebrities purchase."

Those celebrities include Jessica Simpson, who closed on her condo Wednesday.

Even though parts of the building do not open until next month, Palms Place is ready to provide that non-gaming alternative many crave when they visit Las Vegas.

Maloof told Action News that they have been sold out with non-refundable deposits for more than 2 years now.

The actual closing process just started on Friday.

Maloof says, that despite the current market, he is confident that most of those sales will go through.
